We believe the laser industry should be more open, with hardware and software that can work freely together. The industry has suffered from a lack of competition and interoperability for far too long, and we want to help change that by making it easier for other developers to build laser software - even software that competes directly with Liberation.

We also don't think every useful little utility needs to be a product or a subscription. Sometimes software should just solve a problem and be free to use.

Libera is the laser control technology that powers Liberation, released as a free and open source C++ library for other developers to use.

Libera takes care of the boring work of discovering and communicating with laser controllers, so you can concentrate on making whatever weird and wonderful laser software you want.

If you're building laser software, Libera gives you a tried and tested hardware layer out of the box, with the same controller support used by Liberation and a rapidly growing ecosystem of new laser software and tools.

A handy toolkit for laser testing and servicing.

Want to check if your scanners really perform to the manufacturer's specs? Libera Lab provides a range of test and calibration patterns, an oscilloscope view, and scanner stress analysis to help you see exactly what's going on.

It's perfect for a wide range of servicing jobs, including colour alignment, scanner tuning and much more. You can also isolate individual colour channels, load and play ILDA files, and quickly send patterns to any connected laser.

Libera Lab works with all Libera-supported controllers, including Helios, Ether Dream, IDN, Sollinger AVB and LaserCube, with no limit on the number of lasers you can connect.
